Abby Shows off 2-Switch Step Scanning

Abby has been one of our friends in the clinic for over a year now. She began her journey using augmentative communication with a Dynavox Vmax with auditory cued step scanning. Abby does not see well enough to scan her messages visually so she uses an auditory cue she hears in a pillow switch behind her head. Abby uses her left (red) switch to move her scan, one step at a time, until she hears the message cue she wants. Then Abby uses her right switch (yellow) to select the message and speak it aloud for her partner to hear. In this movie Abby was "rocking" the switches- scanning quickly to interact with her therapist, Adina.  http://youtu.be/vv1s1n9clls
